The Triumph of the flagship project of  Ehsaas Porgam takes another stride as Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurates ‘Ehsaas Savings Wallets’ (Ehsaas Bachat Accounts) pilot initiative for 7 million Kafaalat beneficiaries.  The new project envisioned to empower women financially and it aims to unlock the potential of millions of the most unprivileged women in Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention  In Pakistan, most of the digitally and financially excluded segments are destitute women. For the first time, the poorest women in Pakistan will have the option to save their stipends. Furthermore, savings would assist families to alleviate   poverty; often access to saving accounts is the first step towards broader financial inclusion.” Citing the global best practices, Women have a great role in decision making. Financial freedom gives women the opportunity to make free decisions without male dependency. Financial independence is the key to empower women and make them useful members of society. The government has ensured transparency in digital accounts. Under Ehsaas Saving Wallets, beneficiaries will have the option of either drawing their money or saving money into the digital wallets. The women would be able to independently handle their accounts. It is a healthy approach and would bring a positive impact on the overall economy.  The social safety net will be further expanded and one window facility will be opened at the Tehsil level to integrate all Ehsaas programs under one roof.  Ehsaas Saving Wallets will prove to be an important milestone for the economic empowerment of the marginalized segments of society. The program has been framed in accordance with the best international practices.
