Winning series against West Indies a morale booster for Pakistan: Hafeez

Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, in a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) video on Wednesday, termed the recent Men in Green’s one-nil Twenty20 International series victory against West Indies as a morale booster.

The 40-year-old stated that Pakistan had been performing well in recent T20Is while relishing the opportunity he received to bowl during the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies.

“Because of rain, all matches could not be played in the T20I series. We played really well in the matches that were played. We played good cricket in the T20I series against England as well. Winning the series against West Indies will be a morale-booster. We should enjoy this victory,” Hafeez said.

“I have never been a full-time bowler but have always bowled with confidence. I had been waiting for a chance to bowl for a long time. I took the opportunity as soon as I received it,” he added.

The veteran all-rounder also praised the talented youngster Mohammad Wasim Jr for his impressive performance against West Indies.

“Mohammad Wasim Jr showed his talent in the series. I always say that when a youngster is given a chance, he should be given a proper and full chance. I am happy that he received a full chance during this series,” he concluded.
