Technological development


One of the most important aspects of Science and Technology is that it has solution to the difficult of the difficult problems, the problems which have the potential to become major bottlenecks to the overall growth of the country. Science and Technology provide favorable conditions for the country’s growth and increase healthy competition nationally and also internationally.  In today’s world, more often, we get to read or listen that developed countries, developing countries, underdeveloped countries, or even third-world countries, all these designate the level of development of Science and Technology in other countries, they have the influence on. Pakistan is moving on a fast track towards scientific developments to meet the need of the new era. Digital Pakistan vision has been launched, Electrical vehicle policy announced and next month e-commerce policy is going to be announced while work is also underway to set-up Biotechnology Park in the country which will be the biggest in South Asia. On Monday Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Pakistan’s first National Science and Technology Park in Islamabad. The park is set to be the country’s largest innovation and research ecosystem which would accommodate more 40 companies including start-ups, Small and Medium Enterprises and other tech companies. The premier said that the government will give special emphasis to science and technology education to enable the youth to reach their potential. The park would be located in the vicinity of National University of Science and Technology. It will serve as a launch pad for the country’s researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. The initiative is aimed at building the knowledge economy of Pakistan by stimulating and nurturing innovation-led germination and growth of hi-tech entities.

The eight key thematic areas of NSTP will include agriculture technology, automobile technology, education technology, energy technology, defence technology, finance technology, health technology and smart technology, which will increase in number, scope and breadth in coming years. The park will serve to create and enhance international and national strategic linkages to further growth and economic diversity.
