‘Shang-Chi’ new teaser honours ‘legacy of warriors’ Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange as it ushers Marvel’s new era – WATCH
Ahead of its big theatrical release next weekend, Marvel Studios dropped a new teaser of their upcoming film ‘Shang Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings’.
Keeping up with the new trend that honours and rewinds the past decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the teaser honours ‘legacy of warriors’. As a montage of Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange flashes on the screen, Michelle Yeoh’s character Ying Nan says in a voice over, “Those who came before us… Made us who we are today.”
“It’s time to show the world who I really am,” Simu Liu says as he assumes his superhero calling and confronts his past that he thought he left behind.
“Everything you’ve experienced was just the beginning. In 10 days, Marvel’s new ear arrives,” reads the text in the clip.
The film that features an all Asian cast opened to a near-perfect rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Yuen Wah, Ronny Chieng, Zach Cherry, Dallas Liu, with Michelle Yeoh, and Tony Leung.
‘Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ is slated to hit Indian theatres on September 3. The film will have a multi-lingual release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
The film will be the second Marvel feature film to release in 2021. Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’ officially kicked off Phase 4 of the MCU, even though it was set in between the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
Marvel also has films including ‘Eternals’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ slated for their releases later in November and December, respectively.
