Interior Minister commends role of Pakistan Coast Guards against heinous crimes

Naval Chief Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, who is on official visit to Saudi Arabia, has held separate meetings with Saudi Chief of General Staff and Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces.According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, matters of mutual interest, including naval cooperation, came under discussion during the meetings. The Saudi officials appreciated the brotherly relations between the two countries and acknowledged Pakistan’ Navy’s role for regional peace. They also appreciated Pakistan Navy’s role in military training of Saudi Naval forces. The Naval Chief also visited Saudi Naval Forces Headquarters in Riyadh where he was presented guard of honor. Minister of Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has lauded the professional role of the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) and said that the PCG is committed to performing its duties on land and sea against smuggling, drugs, and other heinous crimes. This he said while visiting the Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG) Headquarters in Karachi today (Friday). Director-General PCG received the federal minister. According to the spokesperson of PCG, federal minister of interior laid the floral wreath on the martyrs’ monument and paid tribute. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed was briefed about the professional matters of PCG, operations against smuggling and PCG responsibilities. On this occasion, He said that the PCG played an important role not only in time of peace but also in any war situation. Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed assured that full cooperation will be provided to strengthen and more functionalize the PCG by the government. A high level meeting in regards with multinational maritime exercise “Aman-21″  held in Karachi today (Friday).  Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over the meeting. The exercise will be held in Karachi from 16 to 21st of next month by Pak Navy. Pak navy will host the exercise. Addressing the meeting, Syed Murad Ali Shah said Pakistan Navy is hosting this exercise since 2007 which has projected positive image of Pakistan at international level.

He said Pakistan Navy is one of the best Navies of the world and said that forty six countries will take part in these exercises.

It was decided cleanliness and tree plantation work in the city will be completed during exercise.
