Federal Cabinet approves procurement of Covid-19 vaccine to protect human lives
Prime Minister Imran Khan said for over seven decades, the life of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been a chronicle of state-sponsored cruelty and terrorism. He said owing to Indian intransigence, the UN Security Council has failed to fulfill its pledge to the Kashmiri people. Imran Khan said India has unleashed a new reign of terror in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir since August 2019.
The Federal Cabinet has approved procurement of Covid-19 vaccine to protect human lives on time and emergency basis.The cabinet, which met in Islamabad today (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, also approved setting up of an inspection committee to improve the quality of country’s exports of the fisheries sector. The committee will be responsible for inspection of fish processing plants in the country.It granted approval to the appointment of members Press Council of Pakistan. The cabinet also offered Fateha for departed souls of martyred labourers of Machh incident, Osama Satti, died of police firing in Islamabad, and martyrs of the armed forces. Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Tuesday) and briefed about his visit to Quetta.
The Minister visited Quetta on the special instructions of the Prime Minister and met the Hazara community.
Political situation across the country was also discussed during the meeting. Law Minister Farogh Nasim and Advisor on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Tuesday).During the meeting, they discussed important legal and constitutional matters, way forward for resolution of problems, and future strategy.The Prime Minister was apprised about the strategy for taking court cases to their logical conclusion in a swift and prompt manner.Farogh Nasim briefed the Prime Minister that 99.5 percent cases received by the Law Ministry have been disposed of. He said 100 cases are being deposed of on daily basis.The Prime Minister appreciated the pace of concluding court cases.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to activate the Punjab Cooperative Department to ensure financial assistance to farmers.This was expressed by the Prime Minister during a meeting with Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat in Islamabad today.The provincial minister apprised the Prime Minister about the changes being made in Punjab to bring the old laws in line with the existing rules.
On the other hand, Pakistan has strongly condemned the latest extra-judicial killings by the Indian occupation forces of three Kashmiri youth in Srinagar on 29 December last year.
In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said the families and neighbors of the martyred Kashmiris have affirmed that the young boys were innocent, who visited Srinagar on the fateful day and became victims of Indian state-terrorism.
He said it is doubly inhuman that the bodies of the three martyrs are not handed over to their families for a proper burial, despite repeated appeals by the families.
The Spokesperson said this is a new form of oppression that the Indian occupation forces are now resorting to in order to break the will of the Kashmiri people. They will never succeed in this attempt.
He said Pakistan reiterates its call for an independent inquiry under international scrutiny to investigate the extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris by Indian occupation forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice.
