PM strongly condemns suicide blast in North Waziristan
PM directs CM KPK to ensure immediate arrest of killers of Sikhs
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Sunday strongly condemned a suicide blast in Miran Shah, North Waziristan in which reportedly six persons including three security personnel embraced martyrdom.
The prime minister expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families
He also prayed for the high ranks of the departed souls and for the bereaved families to bear the losses with equanimity.
He paid tributes to the sacrifices of Lance Hawaldar Zubair Qadir, sepoy Aziz Asghar and sepoy Qasim Maqsood.
He said that the entire nation felt pride over the supreme sacrifices of the armed forces of Pakistan which had always been a golden chapter in national history.
Such a display of valour and sacrifices had always remained a glowing principle of the armed forces of Pakistan which were kept alive by the martyrs, he added
The prime minister also expressed condolences with the bereaved families of shaheed children including 4-year-old Anam, 8-year-old Ahsan and 11-year-old Ahmad Hassan
Expressing his resolve to root out the scourge of barbarity, he said that murderers of innocent children had been the enemies of Islam and humanity.
He said that they would not rest till the facilitators and culprits behind this heinous act were brought to justice. Meanwhile to another incident, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday strongly condemning the killing of two members of the Sikh community in Peshawar, directed the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits.
He also urged the chief minister to ensure steps for the protection of the lives and properties of the citizens, particularly of the non-Muslims.
The prime minister expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of the deceased Ranjeet Singh and Kanwal Singh. The prime minister observed that enmity with Pakistan was the reason behind this act of terrorism and resolved to eliminate enemies of the country. He also assured the bereaved families of the complete support of the federal government. Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in the United Arab Emirates to express condolence on the demise of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The prime minister has arrived in UAE from London. The prime minister express condolences with newly elected UAE President Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan.
Pakistan and the UAE are bound by close fraternal relationship. Under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the relationship between Pakistan and the UAE scaled to new heights. He was a sincere friend of Pakistan. His invaluable contributions will be long remembered by the Government and the people of Pakistan.
In solidarity with the brotherly people of UAE, the Government of Pakistan announced three-day national mourning from 13-15 May 2022, with the national flag flying at half-mast.
Earlier, the prime minister, on his Twitter handle, had expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the death of Sheikh Khalifa and said that UAE had lost a visionary leader and Pakistan, a great friend. Furthermore, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Sunday said that emergency relief measures were underway for the residents of Pir Koh, Dera Bugti who were facing a cholera epidemic.
The prime minister, on his Twitter handle, also reiterated federal government’s support and assistance to Balochistan.
On Saturday, the prime minister had taken a notice of the cholera outbreak in Pir Koh, Dera Bugti and issued directions to the relevant federal and provincial authorities to take emergency measures to contain its spread.
“Following my directions to the federal & provincial authorities, emergency relief measures are underway for the residents of Dera Bugti. The situation is being monitored very closely. The federal government will extend its support & assistance to Balochistan,” the prime minister posted in a tweet.
The prime minister had also instructed that food items, clean drinking water and other assistance should be delivered to the affectees in Pir Koh. He directed that the provision of medicines and clean water should be ensured.
