Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill on Tuesday said that for the first time in history, those were made accountable to the law who remained in power corridors.

In reaction to the statement of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, he said all courtiers including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were unable to be held accountable for corruption.

Every time, Khaqan requested to install camera insides the court when he came out of the court, he said.

Gill said the courtiers would not be able to show their faces if cameras were installed in the court. Making humble submission in the court and showing victory sign outside the court have become their tradition, he said.

Adding to this, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan stopped the rhetoric of the incompetents by ensuring across the board accountability.

In response to the statement of Maryam Aurangzeb, he said the PM exposed narrative of the opposition by welcoming the Pandora Papers. The incompetents tried their best to find name of Imran Khan in Pandora Papers, he added.

However, he said this time to the incompetent courtiers faced embarrassment. The incompetent league was first exposed through the Panama Lakes, he added.

Gill said the nation came to know through Imran Khan how ruthlessly absconder Mian plundered the national wealth. The courtiers have launched propaganda to divert attention of of the people from their theft, he added.

Earlier to this, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib on Monday said that the investigation cell constituted by Prime Minister Imran Khan would determine whether the public office holders named in Pandora Papers had declared their offshore assets in tax returns or not.

In a tweet, he said if it was found in the investigation report of the cell that the public office holders had not declared their offshore assets then a corruption case would be referred to National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

In case of money laundering, the matter would be sent to FIA while the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would investigate tax evasion if the person was not a public office holder. He further added, said the revelations made in Pandora Papers had disappointed the ‘euphoric’ opposition.

According to the International Consortium of International Journalists (ICIJ), Prime Minister Imran Khan did not own any off shore company, the minister said in a tweet.

Honesty and righteousness of PM Imran has also been proved at international level, he added.

Farrukh reiterated the prime minister’s decision of launching the investigation against those citizens who were named in Pandora Papers.
