Pakistan strongly condemns extra-judicial killing of four more Kashmiri youth

The pattern of ongoing atrocities in the IIOJK has been intensified during the holy month of Ramzan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned Indian occupation forces’ relentless killing spree resulting in the martyrdom of four more Kashmiri youth during this week in staged ‘cordon and search’ operation in Shopian district of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

More than 576 innocent Kashmiris had, so far, been martyred by the Indian occupation forces since India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.

“The pattern of ongoing atrocities in the IIOJK, which has been intensified during the holy month of Ramzan, reflects India’s despicable policy of terrorizing the population in a bid to perpetuate its systemic persecution of the Kashmiris. The valiant Kashmiri youth is, however, resolutely committed to their just cause and no amount of brutalities can dampen their unbreakable resolve,” it was added.

The spokesperson said Pakistan reiterated its call for investigation of extra-judicial killings in IIOJK by the Commission of Inquiry as recommended by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in its Kashmir reports of 2018 and 2019.

“Pakistan also calls upon the international community to play its due role for a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” the spokesperson added.

Notably, Kashmiri youth had been a specific target of the 900,000 strong Indian military force and thousands of Kashmiri youth were living in a perpetual environment of terror, harassment and intimidation. Indian forces continue to perpetrate egregious violations of human rights in the occupied territory with shameless impunity under draconian laws such as the Public Safety Act (PSA) and Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA).meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of bulldozing the Indian Constitution and the saffron party’s leaders of outdoing each other in stripping Muslims of their homes and livelihood.

In her tweet, she says the vengeance with which the BJP is bulldozing India’s Constitution has now reached the homes of minorities.

She was referring to the Khargone district administration in Indian state of Madhya Pradesh demolishing at least 50 structures of people during the Ram Navami riots in the district. Earlier, Indian troops continued their violent cordon and search operations and house raids in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, subjecting the people to harassment, even in the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops and paramilitary personnel carried out military operations and house raids in different areas of Srinagar, Ganderbal, Badgam, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipore, Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, and other districts of the territory and arrested dozens of people.

India’s notorious National Investigation Agency along with the paramilitary personnel also conducted house raids and searches at different places in the Kashmir Valley and seized mobiles, laptops, computers and other belongings of the people.

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Bashir Ahmad Butt and Dr Musaib Ahmad have congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. They hoped that he will effectively raise the Kashmir dispute at all international forums.

On the other hand, an Indian soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon at an army camp in Rangreth area of Srinagar, last night. In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have booked at least eleven persons including senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, under draconian law, Public Safety Act, in Bandipora district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the detainees have been lodged in different jails of the occupied territory.

Hurriyat leaders while denouncing the fresh arrests deplored that human rights situation is deteriorating with every passing day in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They said that killings, arbitrary arrests and torture at the hands of Indian occupation troops have become new normal in the territory.

Protest demonstrations were held in parts of Jammu region against the anti-people policies of the authorities.

Residents of various localities shouted high-pitched slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party for inflicting miseries on the Kashmiri people through flawed policies.

Meanwhile, the US Department of State in its report painted a grim picture of human rights of Muslims in India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The State Department in its “2021 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices” noted that Muslims in India are vulnerable to communal violence and discrimination.

On the other hand, in a statement, the APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, congratulated Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on behalf of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir over being elected as new Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
