Pakistan, Kuwait reaffirm commitment to expand bilateral ties
Pakistan desires to further enhance relations in diverse fields with Bulgaria: Shafqat Mahmood
Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has reiterated to expand relations between Kuwait and Pakistan for mutual benefit.
Replying to President Dr. Arif Alvi’s letter, he expressed satisfaction over the strong relationship between Kuwait and Pakistan. He accepted the invitation from the President to visit Pakistan.
He thanked Pakistan for appreciating Kuwait’s role regarding issues of Muslim Ummah especially Palestine.
In the letter, he expressed hope that world will soon get rid of this Coronavirus pandemic.
It is noted that, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan Ms. Irena Gancheva called on to Shafqat Mahmood, Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training & National Heritage here today in his office. Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training & National Heritage, to Shafqat Mahmoodin a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan Ms. Irena Gancheva, stressed to further enhance the need for cooperation between the two states in the field of education and culture. Federal Minister said that our relations have always been marked by trust, mutual understanding and close cooperation and Pakistan attaches high importance to its relations with Bulgaria and is desirous of further enhancing these relations in all fields of mutual interests. During the meeting, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan Ms. Irena Gancheva said that there is a lot of scope of mutual cooperation in various fields including education and culture. She also expressed keen interest in enhancing and promoting people to people contact and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education and officials from National Heritage & Culture Division also attended the meeting.
On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi has stressed the need to further improve the communication system and information technology for rapid development of the country.
He was addressing an agreement signing ceremony between Universal Service Fund and PTCL in Karachi on Monday, to lay 700-kilometre Optical Fiber in Naushahro Feroze, Benazirabad and Khairpur for high-speed broadband services.
The President said IT education should be imparted to the youth who are real strength of the country and can play role in the development.
He said digital economy is flourishing around the world and a rapid work on it in Pakistan will open up more avenues for the country in coming days.
