Pakistan determined for the Afghanistan’s enduring Peace: FM
Pakistan urges int’l community to play their role in preserving Islamic heritage sites in India
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan has unveiled the real face of India at the international level by presenting a dossier on its involvement in terrorism to the United Nations.
He was talking to newsmen before the oath-taking ceremony of the new body of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Women wing in Multan today (Sunday).
The Foreign Minister said the Indian government has gone on the defensive on the Kashmir issue and it is being criticized even internally on the issue, which is a victory of Pakistan’s stance.
He said Pakistan twice gave counsel access to India for its spy Kulbhushan Jadhav and is ready to offer this third time but India is ignoring its own citizen.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan is in favor of peace in the region and its role is being acknowledged internationally for sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
Responding to a question, he said the border fencing at the Pak-Afghan border is being completed which would not only control illegally crossing but also reduce terrorism. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has also decided to fence its border with Iran. He said the border fencing would be completed before the end of the current year. Pakistan has called upon the international community, the United Nations, and relevant international organizations to play their role in preserving the Islamic heritage sites in India from the extremist ‘Hindutva’ regime. On the 28th Anniversary of the demolition of Historic Babri Masjid today (Sunday), Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri urged India to ensure the safety, security, and protection of minorities, particularly Muslims and their places of worships. He said the flawed judgment of the Indian Supreme Court in the Babri Mosque case last year, not only reflected the preponderance of faith over justice but also the growing majoritarianism in today’s India. He said the recent shameful acquittal of the criminals responsible for demolishing the historic Babri Mosque in 1992 represented another egregious travesty of justice. The spokesperson said the new illegitimate Hindutva-driven BJP structure that is converting India into a Hindu Rashtra, is a scar on the face of the so-called largest democracy in the world. On the other, The United Nations has called upon India and Pakistan to reduce tensions; and engage in a dialogue and pursue solutions following the United Nations Charter and Security Council resolutions. This was stated by UN Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov while talking to Pakistan Permanent Representative to United Nations Ambassador Munir Akram in New York. During the meeting, the Permanent Representative handed over the dossier to him regarding Indian involvement in terrorist activities against Pakistan. India is trying to mislead the world community through false and concocted facts. New Delhi has been involved in leveling baseless allegations against Pakistan. By spreading falsehoods, India can neither cast a shadow on the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for freedom from illegal and inhuman Indian occupation nor can it escape censure by the international community for the gross and systematic violations of human rights being perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces in IIOJK. India’s claim of being the largest democracy of the world stands exposed before the world as the rights of minorities are not safe in that country
