Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan and the United States have decided to remain engaged and work together on advancing the two countries’ bilateral agenda and promoting common interests in the region and beyond.
During an interaction with media persons in Multan, he said the understanding to this effect was reached during his telephonic conversation with the new US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan is committed to sustainable peace in Afghanistan and will continue to facilitate Afghan peace process.
He said that peaceful political settlement in Afghanistan is not only in favour of Pakistan, but also for the entire region.
He said that Pakistan has played a role of facilitator to bring both parties on the table for dialogue and added that these efforts would continue in future.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he informed the US Secretary of State about the priorities of the PTI-led government.
