Pakistan aims to connect CPEC with CARs: Information Minister

Business community appreciates PM’s initiative of making entrepreneurs part of his foreign trips

Dushanbe: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Pakistan desires to connect CPEC with Central Asian States as per the economic vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Talking to media in Dushanbe on Thursday, he said we have been stressing on the inclusion of Central Asian states even before the current situation in Afghanistan.

He said connecting all Central Asian States with rail and road network will enhance connectivity in the region.

The Minister hoped that situation in Afghanistan will be better. He said that the international cooperation with the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan will benefit the entire world.

Before leaving, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Tajikistan will prove to be an important milestone and further increase the prestige of Pakistan.

In a televised message regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to Dushanbe, the information minister said Imran Khan will hold meetings with the Iranian President, the Foreign Minister of China and the leadership of Central Asian States on the sidelines of the SCO Summit.

The information minister said situation in Afghanistan will be discussed in the SCO summit. He said Pakistan recognizes Tajikistan’s important role in Afghanistan.

He said this visit will provide an opportunity to further our doctrine for a stable and inclusive government in Afghanistan and move towards a regional solution.

As regards bilateral relations, the information minister said Pakistan enjoys cordial relations with Tajikistan. He said the Prime Minister will attend a business conference in Dushanbe which will discuss ways and means to further promote business linkages between the two countries.

While on the other hand, The business community has commended Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initiative of making entrepreneurs part of his foreign trips in order to bolster trade and exports with rest of world especially the regional countries.

Members of the business delegation accompanying the Prime Minister in his Dushanbe visit expressed the confidence that this will help promote trade and economic linkages with the Central Asian State.

They said tapping the Central Asian market is an important step which will open new vistas of opportunities for Pakistani businessmen.

Chairman of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association Tauqir-ul-Haq who is also part of the delegation said there is a great potential for our Pharma industry in Tajikistan. He said their visit will provide an opportunity to enter into joint ventures with Tajikistan and exploit opportunities for exports of medicines to the country.

Senior Vice President of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Achakzai said promoting exports to the Central Asian States will benefit our economy and help earn valuable foreign exchange.

Vice President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Junaid Altaf was also appreciative of Prime Minister’s vision of promoting regional trade.

The business delegation also recognized the incentives given to them by the present government.
