Pak welcomes KSA role in Pak-India

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Thursday, said that wel­comed the mediation offer from the Saudi crown prince to deescalate the tensions between Pakistan and India. In a meeting with visiting Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir, foreign minister said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and added that Adel Al-Jubeir had declared Pakistan his second home

Both the foreign ministers agreed to implement the steps to promote two-way economic, political and se­curity cooperation under Pak-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council. Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir assured his Pakistani coun­terpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi of Saudi Arabia’s full cooperation to set­tle all the outstanding issues between Pakistan and India peacefully.

Saudi Arabian Minister al-Jubeir said this in a meeting with FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad. They discussed matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-India tension and regional peace. The Saudi Arabian state minister is on a day-long visit to Pakistan at the direction of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and his tour aims at bring­ing the tense environment between Pakistan and India to normalcy.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi held meeting with a delegation led by Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn here and both leaders also exchanged views on bilateral relations, trade and mat­ters of mutual interests. The foreign ministers of both countries agreed exchange of delegations for enhanc­ing bilateral ties besides cooperation in science, technology and education sectors. While addressing a joint press conference, the foreign minister said that he has discussed the regional situation with Luxembourg coun­terpart and clarified the position of Pakistan over recent escalation with India. Pakistan desired longstanding peace establishment in the region and Islamabad exhibited tolerance despite aggressive moves by the New Delhi. He said that violation of ceasefire line had made from Indian side despite the as­surance of investigation into Pulwama incident by Pakistan. Qureshi added that Islamabad has invited India for di­alogues on every platform.— Agencies
