Pak-Saudi Interior Ministers discuss matters of mutual interest
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia emphasize on better liaison to address various issues
ISLAMABAD: Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Naif along with his six-member delegation on Monday arrived here on a day-long visit. Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed welcomed the Saudi Interior Minister and his delegation at Noor Khan Airbase. Secretary Interior Yousaf Naseem and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. The Saudi Interior Minister is visiting Pakistan on a special invitation of Shiekh Rasheed Ahmed. A formal meeting between the two interior ministers and delegation was held here at the Interior Ministry. The Saudi dignitary also meets President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan besides other key government and security officials. Regional issues, the release of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia and other important matters come under discussion during the meeting. They stressed the need to further strengthen ties between the interior ministries of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Better liaison between the two ministries was needed to address all issues including security challenges, it said. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Rasheed said Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia, adding that these relations were long-lasting. Two million Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia were our precious asset, he added. The Minister thanked the Saudi government for caring for Pakistani workers.
Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Naif said Pak-Saudi relations were based on mutual trust and brotherhood. Advisor to the Prime Minister on Accountability Brig (R) Musaddiq Abbasi and Interior Secretary Yousuf Naseem Khokhar were also present in the meeting.
