Islamabad: (VOM) President PTI UAE- Muhammad Nawaz Khan Jadoon says that the overseas community is eager to play their constructive role in the political and socio-economic development of Pakistan. During a media presser held here at the Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR) on Saturday, Muhammad Nawaz Khan Jadoon stated that a three-day convention for overseas Pakistanis scheduled to recognize the services of expatriate Pakistanis for the country and pay rich tribute to the Prime Minister Imran Khan for utmost facilities to the overseas Pakistanis across the world. Overseas Pakistanis from 25 countries have arrived in Islamabad to attend the convention. Besides the office-bearers and activists of the PTI living in foreign countries, special guests and delegates would also be invited from the United States, Europe, and Central Asian Republics for participation in the “historic gathering”. He said the convention would be the biggest and most historic event. President COPAIR Amna Munwwar Awan lauded the convention for overseas Pakistanis initiative as it will recognize the unsung heroes that are resiliently working for Pakistan’s economic prosperity through remittances and FDI’s. Muhammad Nawaz Khan Jadoon further stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan has fulfilled the promise of giving the right to vote to nine million overseas Pakistanis who are around the globe working diligently in coherence with the national interest of the country. Roshan Digital Account and ‘Sohni Dharti Remittance Program’ initiated by the government immensely benefiting the Overseas Pakistanis, he added. Similarly, the Federal Board of Revenue, too, has created numerous privileges for overseas Pakistanis. While briefing further he remarked that, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of welfare of overseas Pakistanis, several positive initiatives been introduced in respect of consular services. Pakistan’s missions abroad have been providing multiple consular services to overseas Pakistanis, including machine-readable passports, renewal of national identity cards, visa services, verification of nationality, and issuance of emergency travel documents. In this regard adviser to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Ayub Afridi on issued various directives for addressing the complaints of overseas Pakistanis, He termed Pakistan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai ‘a huge success’ that highlights our potential in terms of the tourism industry but also showcasing its people and economic and industrial prowess and it is a notable fact that first time ever government of Pakistan participated in such kind international expo. Likewise, he also highlighted various tourism-related MoUs of Pakistan that would pave a path for massive foreign direct investments and also open countless job opportunities for Pakistanis. Lastly, while commenting on the country’s political situation, Muhammad Nawaz Khan Jadoon said that the no-confidence motion moved by the joint opposition against Prime Minister Imran Khan will fall flat.
