NA Speaker vows to uphold constitutional supremacy

Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has vowed to uphold constitutional and Parliamentary supremacy. In his inaugural speech after being elected of 22nd Speaker of the National Assembly, he said the House represents the masses and it would be his utmost priority to revive the sanctity and impartiality of this sacred Parliament. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said he would maintain the impartiality expected from the office of the Speaker and the tolerance associated with this important position. He said media has attained a significant role in governance. He appreciated the role of the Parliamentary Reporters Association and sought their support for improving parliamentary oversight. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf orders to reopen Media Corner at Parliament House Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has ordered to reopen Media Corner at Parliament House, Islamabad for facilitation of media persons. On a point of order in the National Assembly, PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb had requested the newly elected Speaker of Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf for reopening of media corner at the Parliament House.
