Kazakh Ambassador to Pak reiterates commitment to further broaden the sphere of bilateral ties between the two states

Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR) organized an in-house session to discuss the “Pakistan-Kazakh Republic Relations” with Ambassador of Kazakhstan. His Excellency in his address stated that Pakistan was among first five countries who recognized our Independence, to be more precise – fourth – after Turkey, Romania and Russia. I’m really pleased and honoured to serve as Kazakhstan Ambassador to Pakistan. For the above reason, but also because Pakistan was my first ever foreign country to serve as a diplomat. While highlighting the historical nexus, Excellency was of the view that Our Embassy was established in 1994. And I am proud to be a part of Kazakhstan Embassy of that time. I served here as a consul from 1994 to 1996.I would compare that tree with the Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations – how they have developed from the moment, they were established until now. A great role in strengthening of this friendship is played by the leaders. From the very first day of our Independence our first president – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev has been seeking good relations with all our neighbours, including in South Asia. He attached particular significance to the brotherly and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Commenting on the dynamics of ties he mentioned that we have achieved a lot in our cooperation, Political cooperation is an exemplary one – mutual respect and understanding Mutual visits of high officials, Intergovernmental Commission session a year ago – in the end of February 2020 – first after five years break. He also suggested recommendations to reinvigorate bilateral trade and contacts. So called Quadrilateral Transit and Transport agreement between Pak, Kaz, Kyrg and China – to activate the process. We are grateful to Pakistan Government for its intention to revitalize the work and we will be supporting its efforts. Shortest land route from Pakistan (Karachi, Gwadar etc) to Kazakhstan and further on. There is interest from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to join the Agreement. Situation in Afghanistan – improvement will help in routes, their diversification, inclusion of Afghan people into trade, cooperation and would be beneficial for all. Role of Pakistan in peaceful settlement cannot be overestimated. Excellency also urge to raise awareness for businessmen – organising road shows, business fora, B2B contacts, etc. Pakistan is a vast market for Kazakhstan goods, predominantly grains and natural mineral resources.
