President confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Air Chief

Incoming Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and paid his maiden visit at the General Headquarters.

The COAS congratulated Air Chief Zaheer on assumption of command of one of the most decorated and battle hardened air force in the world.

He expressed best wishes and hoped that Pakistan Air Force would achieve new heights under his capable command.

In his staff appointments, he has served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (OR&D), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Training-Officers) and Additional Secretary at Ministry of Defence.  He has also served as Director General Projects, Director General Air Force Strategic Command and Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Air Defence) at Air Headquarters Islamabad. He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College and Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), UK. He also served at Air Headquarters Islamabad as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration).

Earlier, in recognition of his outstanding services, he has been awarded with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).

President Dr Arif Alvi has said that the government is making serious efforts to facilitate and support business community and industrial sector of the country. He stated that the government had announced historic stimulus package of Rs. 1.2 Trillion to provide relief to business community and under-privileged strata of society during the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Peshawar Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (PCST&SI), led by President PCST&SI, Muhammad Adnan Jalil, which called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today. Talking to the delegation, the President said that PCST&SI played important role in the prosperity of the country through their business activities. He added that business-friendly policies of the country led to remarkable improvement in the Ease of Doing Business Index ranking. The delegation apprised the President about their problems. It appreciated the steps taken by the government for providing relief to business community during the pandemic.
