Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Erik Beishembiev and his Deputy Head of Mission visited the Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR) for partaking in the Trade and Investment Forum. Ms Amna Malik and Tazeen Akhtar, the hosts of the session, received the guests and presented shield to H.E Erik Beishembiev.
The Ambassador shed light on the deep-rooted socio-cultural and historical connectivity of Kyrgyz Republic with Pakistan and pointed out that the decent of Mughal Emperor Babar was from Kyrgyzstan region. While talking about the bilateral relations of Pakistan and Kyrgyz Republic, H.E highlighted that SCO, CASA-1000 and QTTA are live examples of cordial relations between both nations. He also mentioned that the great number of medical students of Pakistan studying in Bishkek and Osh is an example of fraternal relations. H.E was of view that his country can act as a connectivity hub for Pakistan’s exports that can reach the Central Asian and European markets by road. He also stressed that there is a great potential for tourism and investments in Kyrgyz Republic. He also urged for opeining a direct flight between Bishek and Islamabad as it will bolster the prospects of trade and enhance people-to-people contacts.
Amna Malik, President COPAIR extended her gratitude to the Ambassador Erik Beishembeiv and admired the scenic beauty of Kyrgyzstan. She recommended that interactive sessions and forums like these could of great benefit for attracting investments and developing people-to-people contact between the both Asian nations.
The journalists, businesspersons, and students attended the two-hour-long session. This session was part of the series of in-house activities organized by COPAIR.
