Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi here on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government has put the country on the right track. Talking to party leaders and workers here, FM Qureshi said that the government’s effective economic policies were yielding positive results and added that the foreign investors were heading towards Pakistan. He said that foreign investment will ultimately generate new jobs for youth in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the foreign minister said that PTI’s government will complete its tenure. He termed multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic corridor project a sign of change in the region. The foreign minister said, “CPEC has entered its second phase. The government has constituted CPEC authority for timely completion of the projects. Earlier on September 17, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that Pakistan was on the positive trajectory of economic progress and prosperity.
Presiding over a high-level meeting on investment in industrial sector, PM Imran had said that the government would provide every possible facility to investors and take measures for ease of doing business in the country. On the occasion, the prime minister had directed to provide basic utilities like electricity, gas and road access to the special economic zones on priority basis.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that they are sticking to the seat of power to bring ‘tabdeeli’ in the country and not for personal greed. FM Qureshi expressed that the nation has given the mandate for a change, which has steered the country towards the right direction. He asserted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will complete its tenure.
He said that they want to direct the economy of Pakistan towards a stable and developed path. The international organizations, which are examining the economic development, are hearing about the improvement in the Pakistani economic situation, he added. Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed that the increase in foreign exchange reserves, reduction in trade deficit and other economic indicators are showing improvement.
Foreign investment companies are now turning to Pakistan, he added.
The Foreign Minister asserted that the economy will be strong and employment will increase with external investments. Projects like CPEC and the Belt and Road Initiative will result in developing communication, tourism, sustainable and cultural links, he added. FM Qureshi said that CPEC is entering into the second phase, with a focus on industrialization, and economic and social development. The government is going to establish economic zones for industrial development very soon, he added.
