German FMs Visit to Pakistan


The Green party lawmaker held talks with her counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari which centered on bilateral cooperation and regional challenges, including the situation in Afghanistan. At the invitation of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany visited Pakistan. He informed that Pakistan had already assisted with the evacuation of over 90,000 people belonging to 24 international countries. “We support a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan contributing to stability and regional connectivity,”. “It is our hope that the Afghan authorities would be responsive to the international community’s expectations regarding inclusivity, respect for human rights for all Afghans, including women, and take effective actions against terrorism.” Annalena Baerbock said “Pakistan has been our closest and most reliable partner in this regard. Through our close cooperation over the last months, more than 14,000 Afghans who were particularly at risk could travel via Pakistan to Germany to start a new life in safety and without fear.”. Annalena Baerbock on Tuesday cut short her three-nation foreign trip after testing positive for COVID-19 while in Pakistan. German Foreign Minister will also call on the Prime Minister. The visit of the Foreign Minister Baerbock is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and is expected to impart further boost to the multi-faceted Pakistan-Germany relationship. Pakistan and Germany are enjoying cordial bilateral relations since 1947 in diverse fields. This high-level visit of German foreign minister will help to further increase the bilateral ties of both states in diverse fields, such as trade, economy, education, health sector etc. Germany always remains an important trade partner to Pakistan, and helped Pakistan to achieve the GSP plus status of European Union. The country which is already facing financial crisis, desperate to engage with the European economic powers to boost their economy. The visit of German foreign minister will help to achieve better opportunities for Pakistan in economy and trade.
