“G-B Investment Conference” held in UAE at “Dubai EXPO 2020”
Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan in his address stated that his government is keen to facilitate Pakistani and international investors if they want to avail investment and business opportunities in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
Dubai: The Gilgit Baltistan (GB) organized “G-B Investment Conference” at Dubai EXPO 2020, on the theme of ‘Unveiling opportunities of Gilgit Baltistan’. The event was attended by the senior government
officials, Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan, Raja Nasir Ali Khan Minister Tourism, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports, Fateh ullah Khan Planning & Development and Information Department Gilgit Baltistan, Muhammad Kazim Maisam, Minister of agriculture, and Mushtaq Hussain Minister of water and power. In addition to this, top business delegations from Pakistan and UAE also attended the event. Various agreements and MOUs were signed in the fields of Tourism, Renewable energy, Agribusinesses, Mining & Minerals, Trade & Commerce, and Tech-based ventures. Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Muhammad Khalid Khurshid Khan in his address stated that his government is keen to facilitate Pakistani and international investors if they want to avail investment and business opportunities in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.“We are showcasing our potential in tourism, agriculture, mining, hospitality, energy, and food processing here at Expo 2020 Dubai and are very positive about the response from the business community and investors.” President Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR), AMG group Amna Munwwar Awan stated that Gilgit Baltistan offers good investment and business opportunities in infrastructure, hydropower and tourism sector. She further advocated that FDI in the G-B to boost the economy by creating employment opportunities, and uplift of the regional infrastructure to further ensure the prosperity and sustainable development of the region. She was also presented traditional shawl of G-B. The business community and government official’s pledged commitment for effectively utilizing the untapped investment opportunities of the G-B region.
