G-20 suspends Pakistan’s debt of 3.17 billion dollars by end of this year


G-20 has suspended Pakistan’s debt of 3.17 billion dollars by the end of this year.Sharing this at a news conference in Islamabad today (Tuesday), Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said this is yet another positive development for the country’s economy. Earlier, the PM’s call for debt relief, called as ‘Appeal for Global Initiative on Debt Relief’ was preceded by an extensive diplomatic outreach by the foreign ministry.

Endorsing PM Khan’s appeal, a spokesperson for the UN secretary general, Stephane Dujarric, said Mr Khan’s initiative was in the same spirit as the secretary general’s own position.
