FM reiterates Pakistan’s determination for peace in region

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination for peace and stability in the region.

 

Speaking in the Senate, he said, establishing cardial relations with Afghanistan is the government’s top priority.

 

He said Pakistan desires to build good relations with India, but BJP regime is the main hurdle in this way.

 

The Foreign Minister said the government is promoting economic diplomacy to strengthen the economy.

 

He said economic stability is key to a successful foreign policy, and under Look Africa initiative, Pakistan has achieved 7 percent growth in export with African countries.

 

Shah Mahmood said under second phase of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the country’s productivity is being enhanced through transfer of technology. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan is committed to sustainable peace in Afghanistan and will continue to facilitate Afghan peace process.

 

He said that peaceful political settlement in Afghanistan is not only in favour of Pakistan, but also for the entire region.

 

He said that Pakistan has played a role of facilitator to bring both parties on the table for dialogue and added that these efforts would continue in future.

 

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he informed the US Secretary of State about the priorities of the PTI-led government.
