Imran lauds economic team for ending current account deficit

Prime Minister Imran Khan has heaped praises on his economic team for ending the current account deficit. Is his statement on social media the premier said, I am proud of my team which ended the deficit during the last four months and the value of rupee increased as a result. Economic progress has been achieved due to measures taken by the government to stabilize economy. Pakistan’s stock market has surged by 30 percent or almost 10,000 points during the last three months.
The prime minister had said that the rupee’s value has increased against the dollar in the last three months and the country’s exports were also on the rise. He had also congratulated his team on the stabilization of the rupee. The prime minister had further said that the economy had stabilised and the country would now progress. The most positive outcome is that the IMF, World Bank and ADB themselves said that Pakistan is on the right direction, he had said.
It is pertinent here to mention that Imran Khan has also convened Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee meeting tomorrow. A couple of days ago, he said that Pakistan’s economy had now stabilized and as a result the government was focused on job creation today in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also summoned a meeting of government and party spokespersons for November 25 to evolve a comprehensive strategy to deal with the opposition’s narrative.
PM Imran will brief the spokesperson about the government’s narrative on various issues including the PTI foreign funding case during the session, said sources.
The sources said that the current political situation, the decisions taken in PTI core committee meeting, the government’s performance, economic situation and other issues will also be discussed in the meeting. The meeting will be held at 6pm on November 25.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had accepted opposition’s application to conduct the proceedings in the foreign funding case against PTI on a daily basis from November 26.
The plea of Opposition’s Rehbar Committee to conduct daily hearing of the case was accepted by the Pakistan’s supreme electoral body. The ECP had also directed the scrutiny committee to gear-up its work in this regard.
