Dear West, Economy over Humanity?

48

The people of Kashmir have been subjected to never-ending violence in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) at the hands of the tyrant Indian military. There are gross human rights violations against Kashmiris in Indian occupied Kashmir. Kashmir is facing a genocidal design of hegemonic India. By committing crimes against humanity, India has been constantly bypassing the Geneva Convention on human rights.

The situation of human rights became worse when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Hindu nationalists, came into power in India. The party revoked articles 370 and 35A from the Indian constitution which gives special status to the Kashmiris. To disturb the demographics of Kashmir, the Modi government gave rights to the non-permanent residents to purchase lands, to seek education on a special quota that was exclusively for the Kashmiris. They are giving domicile certificates to the Indians. India believes that changing the demography of Kashmir can justify its illegal occupation of Kashmir.

Over decades, a number of families have been wiped off by the Indian forces in IIOJ&K but still, the issue could not attract any heed. Silence of the world is criminal. The two nuclear powers of South Asia, Pakistan and India have fought three major wars over the issue but still, it has not resolved. Thus, both countries need to put their differences aside and should resolve on a negotiating table. India must give up its hegemonic design in the SAARC region and talk peace more rationally. The saner power hubs of the world must not look at India through the economic prism. Sadly, India being a big market, it is the economic endeavors that are dear to the western world rather than humanity. If the world is serious about the restoration of peace between two nuclear powers of the region, India must be brought to the negotiating table, or else, ticketed with the sanctions.
