The Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR), Monday, extended Christmas greetings to the Christian Pakistanis on the eve of their holy festival. Christian community is celebrating the Christmas today across the globe. COPAIR inserts that the Christmas gives us the lesson of unity, peace and love, there is no religious extremism in the country as the Christian community has played a pivotal role in the Pakistan Movement.
In this connection, COPAIR arranged a visit of delegation of Christian community leaders led by Chairman National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) Justice (retd) Ali Nawaz Chohan to ‘The Asian Telegraph’ head office here. Representatives of Network for Human Rights Justice (NHRJ) and Center of Pakistan organizations were also part of the delegation. Speaking on the cake cutting ceremony, the members of the delegation opined that they were celebrating the happiness and festival of Christians community, and added that Islam teach us the lesson of unity, brotherhood and protection of minority rights. This would go a long way in establishing a culture of religious tolerance, love and brotherhood. Chairman NHRJ Rasheed Chugtai, Coordinator Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR) Naveed Naqvi, Lubna Azad, Bishop Khalid Pervez, Zulqurnain, Shahid, Fayyaz Maseeh, Shafiq Chaudhry and others were also present on the occasion.
