Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jamm u and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of its illegally detained chief and APHC Vice Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail. According to Kashmir Media Service, the DFP in a statement issued in Srinagar said Shabbir Shah is suffering from various ailments and the communal jail authorities are denying him basic facilities including medical care and hygienic food as per the jail manual. It said that this inhuman treatment to Shabbir Shah was part of the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s policy to victimize the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders for challenging the Indian illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, people observed shutdown, today, in different areas of Srinagar to register their protest against the derogatory remarks of BJP leaders on the holy Prophet (peace be upon him). Most of the shops and business establishments were shut in downtown, Lal Chowk and other areas of the city. The occupation authorities deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in Srinagar and elsewhere in the Kashmir Valley to prevent protests against blasphemous statements of the BJP officials. On the other hand, Indian troops continued their violent cordon and search operations in Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Islamabad districts on the fourth successive day, today. The troops have martyred six youth in these operations. Earlier, India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency accompanied by personnel of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group continued, on the second consecutive day, today, house raids and search operations at multiple locations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, on the directions of BJP-led fascist Indian government, the NIA carried out raids on houses of Jamaat-e-Islami members and supporters of right to self-determination in Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla and other areas of the territory. Various documents and electronic devices were seized during the raids. Meanwhile, curfew entered the 8th straight day, today, in Bhaderwah, while restrictions remained imposed in Kishtwar and Doda towns of Jammu region. Tension escalated in the Muslim dominated areas of Jammu after attacks on anti-blasphemy protesters by Hindutva activists in Bhaderwah.  At least eight Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force personnel and a civilian were injured when two vehicles turned turtle after collision in Nehama area of Kulgam district. All the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In their statements, Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Jameel Ahmad, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League strongly condemned the imposition of ban by the Modi’s Hindutva regime on schools run by the Jamaat-e-Islami affiliated Falah-e-Aam Trust in Kashmir. They termed it as terrorism on education and urged the UN to put pressure on India to reverse its anti-education policy in Kashmir
