Commemorating International Women’s Day, COPAIR pledges resolve of Women empowerment under “E-Women” Initiative


Islamabad: Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR) organized an exclusive Webinar on the Commemoration of International Women’s Day.  The virtual event was co-moderated by Ms. Anza Saqib and, Ms.Asma Khalid. President COPAIR Amna Munwwar Awan expressed her profound gratitude to panelists and participants.   While briefing COPAIR’s  E-Women initiative, she mentioned that this particular program pledges economic and social empowerment of many aspiring female entrepreneurs, craftswomen, and freelancers by providing them mentorship, capacity building, skills development, business knowledge, networking, fund-raising, and financial inclusivity, through tech-based solutions. She further added that the story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to any single entity, nor to any one organization, but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”  So make International Women’s Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women, she concluded.

Ayesha Khan: Country Director Hashoo Foundation emphasized values promoting women in leadership roles and educating future women leaders. She further called for awareness of gender-based equality among the masses. The establishment of high-level corporate leadership for gender equality and the Promotion of education professional development for women to empower women will also reduce risks and challenges.

Sumaira Khan: CEO GAIA Development Professional in her remarks stated that Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls must be a part of state vision to create an environment that helps women succeed economically, prevent and respond to gender-based violence (GBV), provide voluntary family planning and other multifaceted services for women, and ensure women’s leadership and meaningful participation in all areas of life.

Saima Amjad: CEO Al Majara Food & Anchor at Roze TV   stated that identification and increasing visibility of women’s achievements can help forge equality strategic collaborations based on a foundation of shared purpose, trust and appreciation can impact positive change for women worldwide awareness-raising via meaningful narratives, resources and activity can help combat gender bias and discrimination to accelerate gender disparity. She underlined education, training, and professional development for women for the inclusive growth of society.

In the end, the panelist gave a joint declaration that International Women’s Day goes beyond one woman, one day, one community, or one nation. It is a celebration of the human rights of all women and girls across the globe. As we look to the future with a renewed sense of dedication, vigor, and commitment, we will continue to strive to empower women and girls. We will help them rise, and along with them, the world.
