COAS, Chinese Envoy discuss CPEC, matters of mutual interest
Azerbaijan commends Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace, security
Rawalpindi- His Excellency Mr Nong Rong, Ambassador of China to Pakistan called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), today.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, progress on CPEC and regional security situation including latest developments in Afghan Peace Process were discussed. COAS thanked the dignitary for China’s contribution towards fight against COVID-19 and provision of vaccines to Pakistan and said that Pakistan greatly values its friendly relations with its “iron brother” China. COAS also felicitated the dignitary for holding grand ceremony in Beijing on the occasion of 70th Anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations.
Visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process.
Earlier, Commander of Azerbaijan Naval Forces Rear Admiral Subhan Bakirov called on army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at general headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and discussed matters of mutual interest, military said on Tuesday.
“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including defence, training, security cooperation between both countries, and overall regional security situation were discussed,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Azerbaijan, General Qamar was quoted as saying while offering all possible assistance and cooperation in development and defence related fields to the brotherly country.
According to the military’s media wing, the army chief also commended thorough professionalism and valour of Azerbaijan forces.
“Both sides reaffirmed their determination to work together for enhancing diplomatic and security cooperation in various fields,” it added.
The visiting commander appreciated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan and its sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan peace process, said the ISPR.
It is noted that, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday appreciated the role of business community in economic uplift of Pakistan and reaffirmed army’s complete support, says an official statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said that members of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) called on the army chief today. During the meeting, FPCCI’s role in the development of commercial and industrial hubs in Pakistan as well as evolving regional economic environment were discussed, it added.
