COAS, CDS UK discusses geo-strategic situation

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday visited United Kingdom’s (UK) Ministry of Defence where he was received by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) the UK, Gen Sir Nick Carter. Session of delegation level strategic dialogue was held to discuss geo-strategic environment and bilateral military cooperation, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor said on his official twitter handle. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa, who is in Britain on an official visit, visited the Ministry of Defence. According to Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR), session of delegation level strategic dialogue was held between Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK) militaries to discuss geo-strategic environment and bilateral military cooperation. Upon arrival, COAS Bajwa was received by UK’s Chief of Defence Staff General Sir Nick Carter. Earlier on Sunday, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated team Pakistan on their victory against South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Army chief who arrived at the Lord’s cricket ground and watched the complete match congratulated team Pakistan while leaving the stadium. The army chief is in the United Kingdom on an official visit for meetings with senior British civil-military leadership. On Saturday, Gen Bajwa spoke at the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London, where he said that Pakistan is on the cusp of achieving sustainable, irreversible, enduring peace and stability. Improving the security situation would attract foreign investment in Pakistan, he said. — VoM
