Legal team apprised PM Imran and federal cabinet on COAS Bajwa extension case

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday reached the PM house to attend the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan to consult the hearing of a case pertaining to the extension in service of the Army Chief.

According to sources, the legal team briefed PM Imran and the senior members of federal cabinet over the Supreme Court’s objections in case pertaining to the extension in service of the Army Chief. Judicial objections raised by the SC were also discussed in the session. The meeting completed consultations regarding court hearing and prepared a draft to remove objections of the SC. It is expected that the approval of draft through a circulation summary would be got from federal cabinet.

Earlier, Farogh Naseem, who has recently resigned as Federal Minsiter for Law, and Attorney General Anwar Mansoor on Wednesday met Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan in Islamabad. During the meeting, Farogh Naseem and Attorney General informed the premier about the Supreme Court (SC) proceedings over petition filed against the three-year extension granted to Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
