COAS appreciates Tajikistan’s efforts for regional connectivity
Naval Chief Heads Command & Staff Conference at NHQ Islamabad
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has appreciated Tajikistan’s efforts towards regional connectivity and its inclination to achieve the same through Pakistan.
He was talking to Defence Minister of Tajikistan Colonel General Sheralli Mirzo who called on him at GHQ in Rawalpindi today (Wednesday).
The Army Chief said Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Tajikistan which are based on shared faith, culture and convergence on all important issues relating to regional peace, security and stability.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, overall regional situation including recent developments in Afghanistan especially situation on Tajik-Afghan border and measures to further enhance bilateral defence collaboration were discussed.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability especially Afghan Peace Process and pledged to keep working for better relations between the two brotherly countries.
Earlier ISPR reported that Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy concluded at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. The Conference was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.
Matters related to geo strategic milieu, national security, operational preparedness, training and welfare of troops were reviewed. Briefings on various ongoing and future developmental projects of Pakistan Navy were also given to Chief of the Naval Staff. The forum reviewed evolving maritime security situation after US withdrawal from Afghanistan and reaffirmed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K) for the rightful struggle of self-determination.
The Naval Chief expressed confidence over high state of operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy to meet all challenges. The forum also discussed nCOVID-19 situation expressed concern over new spike and reiterated strict compliance to SOPs in line with Gov’t policies.
Command & Staff Conference is the apex decision making body of Pakistan Navy in which Chief of the Naval Staff along with Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders undertake strategic review of Pakistan Navy’s Policies and Plans as well as the prevailing security environment.
