Baseless allegations, smear campaign against the intelligence agencies are damaging the country’s image, Says Interior Minster
Islamabad- Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says the government is equipping the cyber wing with modern gadgets. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said FIA, NADRA and police are investigating journalist Asad Toor incident and facts will be brought forth after due investigation.The Minister said some people are targeting our agencies at the behest of their foreign masters.
He said the baseless allegations and smear campaign against the intelligence agencies are damaging the country’s image.While on the other hand, The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Shaukat Tarin, chaired a meeting here at the Finance Division to review the progress on the Privatization of National Power Parks Management Company Limited (NPPMCL) today. Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro, Federal Minister for Energy Muhammad Hammad Azhar, Adviser to the PM on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr. Ishrat Hussain, SAPM on Power Tabish Gauhar, SAPM on Finance and Revenue Dr. Waqar Masood, Secretaries of Finance, Power, Petroleum and Privatization also participated the meeting. All the participants attending the meeting, shared their input on various issues related to the transaction and briefed the Finance Minister on the progress achieved since the last meeting on the subject. The Finance Minister assured the Privatization Commission and other stakeholders of his full support in resolving technical issues related to the transaction and expressed resolve to complete the transaction at the earliest possible time. On the other hand, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says the government will provide a big relief to the salaried class in the upcoming budget.
In a tweet on Tuesday, he said although inflation has increased, the purchasing power has also gone up with the same ratio, which is welcoming.
The Minister expressed the consfidence that the country will get closer to the destination in next two years under the leadership of Imran Khan.
He said the positive news continue pouring in for the country. Kuwait has resumed issuance of work visas for Pakistanis after ten years. Pakistan’s recovery from the Covid-19 has surprised the world. The regional countries, including India, have been facing critical situations in respect of the pandemic. However in Pakistan, the positivity rate is less than four percent, except Karachi.
