APHC stages protest to condemn Indian HR violations in IOK

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC) staged a demonstration against atrocities in Occupied Kashmir outside the Indian High Commission.

People from different cities, including the APHC leaders, participated in the protest here on Saturday. The protesters were carrying banners and chanting slogans against the Indian atrocities and demanded that the United Nations and the international community should play its role over the grim situation in the Occupied Kashmir.

 The speakers, on the occasion, urged the international community to break silence and pressurize India to give right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people. The speakers said Kashmiris should be given their right of plebiscite as enshrined in the United Nations resolutions. They said the people of Occupied Kashmir are deprived of essential commodities and medicines owing to the continued curfew and lockdown in the valley.

They said Modi is adhering to the RSS ideology to satisfy its sordid designs but, no power could succeed to stop valiant Kashmiris in getting freedom from the illegal Indian occupation.

APHC  AJ&K main leader and J&K Peoples Movement vice chairman Abdul Majeed Malik denounced the continued military siege imposed by India in Occupied Kashmir.  Abdul Majeed Malik, talking to delegations of Kashmiri refugees in Islamabad, said that the Hurriyat leaders languishing in different jails of India were being subjected to torture. He deplored that Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in Indian jails were being treated inhumanly as they were not being provided medical facilities due to which they had developed various ailments. He added that supply had been blocked due to which the people were facing shortage of edibles.

Abdul Majeed Malik said that schools had been converted into military barracks, endangering future of the children. He said that India was settling non-Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir to change the demographic composition of the territory. He said that the people of Kashmir were foiling the conspiracies of the RSS and would they continue their freedom struggle till compete success. He said that the blood of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed go waste and their mission would be accomplished at all costs.

In Occupied Kashmir, the grim ground situation remains unchanged and Muslim majority areas of Jammu and Ladakh regions due to unrelenting lockdown and military siege on 118th consecutive day. The environment of fear and uncertainty continues to prevail due to heavy deployment of Indian troops and police personnel. People continue to suffer immensely owing to restrictions imposed under section 144 and suspension of prepaid mobile and internet services. Although landline phones and voice calls on postpaid connections have been restored partially but the move could not provide any respite to the masses.
