AJK President calls upon UNSC to resolve Kashmir issue
US Congress has held hearings on Kashmir, the European Parliament has held a plenary and some ASEAN parliaments have also established Friends of Kashmir Groups
Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has called upon UN Security Council to help resolve the decades-old Kashmir issue pending on its agenda for the last seven decades.
In an interview, he said there is now more awareness around the world about the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for self-determination.
Sardar Masood said the US Congress has held hearings on Kashmir, the European Parliament has held a plenary and some ASEAN parliaments have also established Friends of Kashmir Groups.
In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said Kashmir freedom movement is indigenous and is deep-rooted in the hearts of Kashmiris.
APHC leader Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar said Kashmiris have defeated the nefarious designs of Indian fascist forces to divide the people.
He said India is changing the demography of the territory and is thrusting its cultural encroachment with aggression on Kashmirs.
He said this is India’s illusion to suppress Kashmiris’ freedom movement by force. He demanded an urgent probe into the heinous war crimes by Indian forces against civil population through a tribunal under the auspices of the United Nations and International Court of Justice.
Senior Hurriyat leader Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori condemned the continued house arrest of veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani.
Meanwhile, Muslim, Sikh and Dalit leaders during a meeting in Jammu demanded initiation of composite dialogue between Pakistan and India. The meeting was organized by Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement.
The KMS report pointed out that New Delhi can’t befool the world community by linking the home-grown resistance to terrorism.
